Card readers
offer a much higher level of security. T hese
systems offer:
- Proximity cards
or fobs that are
individually encoded
- Audit trail
produces a print out when a card is used
- Time zones allow
certain cards to operate specific time
frames.
Biometrics
Previously,
mostly used in government installations due to cost,
biometric technology is now obtainable for the
mass market. Retina, hand or finger scanners
are the most widely used. To create the
highest level of security a combination of
biometric and proximity readers is
recommended.
